Primitive Errors

For Primitive Failed errors, clearing the cache directory appears to resolve the issue…
Windows
My Documents/OpenQwaq/cache
Mac OS

~/Library/Preferences/OpenQwaq/cache

Don’t delete the cache folder – but delete everything inside the folder. The first time back into the forums, you’ll probably have to wait a bit longer as the assets download…

*Can’t find the Library folder???  :  Click on Desktop.  Go to the Finder Menu—-> Go—-> Go to Folder.  Type  ~/library  in the box. Click GO.

Python Errors

REBOOT COMPUTER
1) Clear Teleplace/Openqwaq cache  (See above)
REBOOT COMPUTER
2) Temporarily disable antivirus and:3) uninstall Teleplace/Openqwaq and reinstall – keep AV off for testing -
reenable after testing…Python errors such as these are usually caused by a corrupted cached
item from an interrupted session.

Redirect OpenQwaq Directory from My Documents folder

(Outside of school districts server folder backup)

No way to exclude the OpenQwaq directory from your sync, there is a way to redirect the files from the My Documents Folder.  This is not a supported feature but hopefully it will work for you.

Add the following lines to the bottom of the “openqwaq.ini/Teleplace.ini” file, which will be in the “bin” directory where you installed OpenQwaq

[FileLocations]documents=C:any-writable-directorydocuments

temp=C:any-writable-directorytemp

Once you restart OpenQwaq it should put the directories in those locations.

OpenQwaq Ports Used- Firewall access

OpenQwaq uses the following ports: 1234, 443, 80
*Must be open to ensure OQ functions

If districts restrict IP access, the public facing nodes are 152.10.10.127-130

Proxy errors

Proxy errors: There is no proxy for OpenQwaq so the most likely problem is that you are pointed at the wrong server. Click the More Options button and check the Host text box. Make sure it says qwaq.rcoe.appstate.edu (note, there is no http:// or / at the end, adding those will also give you a proxy error). If you do not see qwaq.rcoe.appstate.edu, click the plus sign to add it, then click okay. Once you are pointed at the right server, you should be able to log in.

Python, Runtime, Object not found, Message not understood errors

Python, Runtime, Object not found, Message not understood errors: These are almost always due to corrupt cache files. Instructions for cleaning the cache on your machine can be found under the heading Primitive Errors at http://appedtech.appstate.edu/systems/teleplace/troubleshooting-and-issue-resolutions/ and other troubleshooting tips are available there as well.

OpenGL errors

OpenGL errors: This typically means that your video card needs an updated driver to render the graphics in-world correctly. Find out what kind of video card you have and then do a google search for the OpenGL drivers for your card. An update should fix the problem.

MSVCR100.dll is missing

MSVCR100.dll is missing: This happens to some Windows users. If you see this error, follow the link and download the 32 bit version. That should fix your problem. (http://www.faqforge.com/windows/fix-the-program-cant-start-because-msvcr100-dll-is-missing-from-your-computer-error-on-windows/)

Username/password not recognized

username/password not recognized: Currently, OpenQwaq is not tied to your ASU account, so your ASU username and password will not work. You should have received a welcome email with a username and password for our server from qwaq@appstate.edu (check your junk folder if it did not turn up in your inbox, particularly if you are forwarding your appstate mail to another account).
